To preserve one's dignity, it is important that we ask ourselves, with consistent frequency, what we deserve -- with honesty and self-awareness, of course. Don't have dumb expectations is what I'm saying. No one deserves diamonds, recognition, or the crown of England. Entitlement isn't homogeneous. HOWEVER, a woman does deserve to be proposed to with a diamond ring. A loved one does deserve support and recognition for their achievements. And we all deserve respect, but no one deserves the crown of England, so you get what I'm trying to say.
The tricky thing is knowing what you deserve. Not because it's impossible or even difficult to, but because an individual may not realize they deserve better until having received better. It's difficult to grasp; the likeliness of attaining what you never thought possible. You can't miss what you never had, you know??
All I have left to say is that although you don't deserve diamonds, recognition, or the crown of England, you do deserve this top, regardless of who you are!! Serial killers, mean girls, good girls, pediatricians, fish in the sea, divorced seamstresses, schizophrenics, anyone, and everyone else deserves this top. Consider it self-care, babe.
