Primary evidence for the fact that people do not change is my love of Betsey Johnson. Secondary is that Apollo, Phaedra's husband on the Real Housewives, ended up back in prison. Third is all the men who apologize but repeat the same mistakes. Over and over, and over, and over again. People don't change -- you get it. People can change, but only just a little, on the surface, and to a certain extent. People can change, but that usually requires humility and self-awareness, which literally nobody seems to have these days (except for me).
I change every year. A lot. I've been aware of this since I was nineteen. However, certain cornerstones of my character remain unfazed by the passage of time. I would've (though wouldn't have been allowed) worn this shirt when I was eight, and would wear it just the same in eighty years' time. Betsey Johnson is and will remain a STAPLE in the canon of twenty-first-century fashion. This tank top is, therefore, a piece of HISTORY.
